The DCO Application was accepted for examination on 24th June 2020. However, on 6th October EDF informed PINS that changes would be made to the application and further consultation engaged in between 18 November and 18 December 2020 and on 22 January 2021, the final fifteen changes were formally requested by EDF. These were not accepted by PINS until after the 6 month examination began on 14th April which meant the examination stage would finish on 14th October 2021.

EDF's fifteen changes to their DCO Application were accepted formally on 28th April 2021 and Interested parties were given the opportunity to update their Written Representation to the original DCO Application to take account of the changes.

As well as attending Preliminary Meetings and Open Floor Hearings, we accompanied the Inspectors on site visits at both Sizewell and Hinkley Point.

Further changes were proposed and consulted upon during the examination stage. This included;

  • 2nd June for three changes with consultation between 11 June and 12 July and confirmed changes by 23rd July accepted by the Inspectors 10th August
  • 23rd July for one further change with consultation between 3 August and 27 August and confirmed changes by 3 September accepted by Inspectors 10th September
  • During the course of the examination three changes to compulsory acquisition orders were also made and accepted on 18th June.

We have attended all the Issue Specific Hearings relevent to MLSG and spoken at each one or had someone speak on our behalf.
