Following the final stage of consultation in 2019, EDF have now submitted their Development Consent Order application.

Planning Inspectorate will examine the application to ensure that it is complete and contains all the relevent sections expected for a National Strategic Infrastructure Project application and consult with statutory consultees over the adequacy of EDF's pre-application consultation and adherance to the conditions of their Statement of Community Consultation.

PINS decision is due by 24th June 2020 at which point EDF can start the pre-examination period when organisations and individuals can submit a statement known as a "Relevant Representation" and become an "Interested Party" in the formal examination of the application.

Both the County and District Councils have asked EDF to postpone starting this phase of the process until the coronavirus pandemic is sufficiently suppressed to allow face to face meetings and physical access to the application documentation.
